Jim Murray's story (from FB Apr '21):

"How time flies. Not a big user of FB but couldn’t resist seeing how everyone is doing.
After my Pre-reg I stayed with SmithKline Beecham for a few years and then persuaded them to sponsor my PhD back at Strathclyde with Gill Eccleston. Strange to return and experience the Pharmacy Dept from a different angle, really enjoyed my time and learned a huge amount from Gill. I then moved back to England, working for AstraZeneca. I’ve been with them ever since apart from a couple of years with Sanofi in Paris. Have moved around a bit with AZ and had a number of different roles over the years – still dabbling in science when the opportunity presents.
Outside of work; I’m married to Kirsty (year below us in pharmacy, met her in Nottingham) with one daughter Heather and now settled in Wilmslow Cheshire. Pre-covid I used to enjoy travelling (including skiing every year with Jimpy), eating out and trying to control the middle-age spread. Now I make do with Deliveroo, the occasional Joe Wicks and training a 4-month-old Golden Retriever puppy. Thanks to Hazel for initiating this, rekindled a few memories and hopefully, the 40 year anniversary can be in person with a glass in hand."
