James Short's story (from FB April '21):

"Wouldn't have thought would be doing this. Binned the yearbook about 2 years ago so thanks to Jim Murray for the pictures from the yearbook.
Went to sunny Devon to do my pre-reg in Plymouth thinking it would be for a couple of years and still in Devon! Lasted in community till 1996 and then went to be Pharmaceutical Adviser at the Health Authority. Did that till 2001 when went into NHS management. 2004 became Director of Primary Care and Primary Care Trust. Gave that up 2010 and went travelling for a bit. Spent the next 8 years in various senior roles in NHS, mainly around commissioning of primary care. Took voluntary redundancy and went to run a large APMS GP practice (32,000 patients) for 18 months that was a merger of 4 failing practices. Since then have been self-employed working on various projects in the NHS.
Since January have been working as pharmacist and vaccinator at Covid vaccination centre. First time I have used my qualification in about 20 years and yes I am still on the register!
Married Caroline in 2015, living in Exeter, no kids, dogs and currently no holidays."
